Iqbal and Fantasy

Abstract

Fantasy is the most influential and astounding genre of the literary world. Its intention can be to amaze, entertain or motivate the reader. Writers and poets, from all around the world, have taken revelatory benefit from this wonderful literary genre. It is regretfully analyzed that the writers and critics of Urdu literature have not taken any significant benefit from this unusual genre. Our national poet of Urdu literature, Allama Iqbal is the most unique and influential representative and spokesman of fantasy. His Urdu and Persian poetry is replete and adorned by the stunning use of the fantasy. Unfortunately, the critics and the researchers of the poetry of Iqbal have never paid any purposeful heed to this aspect of Iqbal's poetry. This research paper analyzes, with terseness and preciseness, the concepts of fantasy and its consequential practice in the poetry of Iqbal.
